About Bannow Ballymitty
In June 2011 Bannow/Ballymitty Gaelic Athletic Association proudly celebrated the 125th anniversary of the founding of its club. The facts surrounding the birth of the association in the parish are somewhat hazy, but that is not in the least surprising. Unfortunately, no official records exist from 1886 when the idea of first forming a club was contemplated.

Young Player Development Pathway
Bannow/Ballymitty GAA Club are committed to ensuring that all our underage teams are as competitive as possible. That each player is constantly learning and will be in a better place when progressing to the next age level. Our intention is to ensure each player can reach their full potential throughout their underage careers. We have put in place a Coaching Development Committee who will drive this program for the whole club.
We are therefore in the process of implementing our “Player Pathway” Program. By implementing our “Player Pathway’’ we are creating an environment where all our young players “Play and Stay’’ with Bannow/Ballymitty GAA Club, not only for their playing careers but throughout their lives.
We have great facilities here at our grounds in Grantstown, and facilities must match the ambitions of our teams that take the field! We have a vibrant Coiste na Nóg (underage) and along with our Adult men, Ladies Football & Camogie, our club needs to aim big in providing the best environment for these young people to thrive both on and off the field of play. In order to advance our players we need to provide all year round facilities of the highest standards.
With this overriding aim in mind, we are embarking on an ambitious 5-year plan.
