A League Of Hope

The Forth Mountain / Wexford People Football League concluded recently for Bannow / Ballymitty U-16's and as the table shows, there is a lot to build on.

It was certainly a closely fought League between the four sides this year. Bannow / Ballymitty may be staying where they are following this year's League campaign concluding, but there are green shoots on which to build.
They showed exactly that in their first game, at home to the Starlights. Some amongst us, would call their display on the morning of the 26th of February a one-sided affair. That'll be of no concern to Bannow / Ballymitty's players, who ran away with a 2-11 to 0-8 victory in the end.
Things would get slightly more difficult in their next outing to St Joseph's away. St Joseph's would make home advantage count and see off the challenge of Bannow / Ballymitty, keeping them at arms length.
Rathgarogue / Cushinstown were always going to be the team to beat in this group, they showed this in their first two games, scoring 3 goals against the Starlights and a further 2 against St Joseph's.
Much like the Starlights, with that in mind we would like to give kudos to the Bannow / Ballymitty squad that were able to hold them to account. Both sides, keeping up with Rathgarogue and only losing by 8 points.
Not too bad!
We would like to say congratulations to not only our players, but also the management team on a competitive League campaign, where Bannow / Ballymitty very much held their own.
