Volunteers Required For Fleadh Cheoil

Wexford County Council is working with the Wexford Volunteer Centre to recruit a large number of volunteers to help with the running of Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann this summer in Wexford town.   This is a unique opportunity to help showcase Co Wexford to more than 500,000 visitors across a 10- day festival.

We need hundreds of people to volunteer and to provide a real Wexford Welcome to the visitors and as part of our volunteer strategy, we are eager to work with existing, well-established volunteering groups that are active across the County.

Wexford GAA is a cultural and sporting institution in Co Wexford, built on volunteering and with a strong and well-established volunteer cohort. As such, the Fleadh Volunteer Group, under the coordination of Wexford County Council, is seeking to work with you to promote the opportunity to volunteer with Fleadh this summer 2024 to your existing volunteer database.

For further information on roles available and registration please see www.fleadhcheoil.ie which will go live from midday tomorrow, Friday, 8th March 2024. All those seeking to volunteer will be directed to the Wexford Volunteer Centre website to register details and express a preference for roles.  Please note, that we have not advertised venue managers and team managers at this stage, as they will be selected from those who volunteer.

I would be grateful if you could circulate this information to your volunteer group directly and encourage them to volunteer with Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann this summer.

There is a specific question on the registration form that asks if you currently volunteer with any group – you should ensure your members insert Co Wexford GAA into that question, as we will be seeking to acknowledge the support of existing groups in our promotional and branding activities.
